Fishietales Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Just a little variation of a popular fly, I found this winter on the stil waters of the North of England, and the Scottish Borders the trout seemed to be wanting anything that had a blue tinge to it, so this came about, hope you like it Quote
ladystrange Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 oooo, i like that one. i have heard that the deeper you fish, the more likely the only colour of the spectrum to be seen is blue. i may have to try a variation Quote
Fishietales Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 Since I retired two years ago I fish five, or six days a week, and I'm always varying the standard fly pattern just to see how they work, the blue does seem to work better in the deeper cooler water, so maybe the fish do see the blue tinge better at depth, mind the blue works better with rainbows than with brownies Quote
