Otiswag1
Good day, I’ve recently had an issue with my lightly used Hatch 5 plus reel, just checking to see if anyone here has had similar issues. While reeling in a fish the tension on the reel increases to the point that it gets difficult to turn the handle. (the only way to relieve the pressure is to decrease the drag on the reel which you can imagine is less than ideal) Also, while the fish is taking line the drag tightens up on it’s own and I have to back it off manually to let the fish run. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Tight lines!
WinstonAngler
Is your reel a Hatch Iconic or a Hatch Finatic 5plus?
walker1
For the price we pay for reels send that back to be serviced. Just had to do that with one of my Islanders. Not sure of your issue but have heard of that before. Best of luck.
Otiswag1
Hatch Finatic 5plus, I’ve sent it to Hatch for repair. I agree, for the price they should repair it or send a new one back, fingers crossed.
walker1
Usually very good service from my experience. Galvan just sent me a handle kit. The islander was the drag issue and I think I had to pay 30 bucks. Way back, Ross took care of me. I have not had to send in my Hatch........ hope I did not jynk myself!!!!
