Tourism Calgary is looking developing some advertising focused on the fly fishing experience in Calgary.  The media developer is looking for input from the fly fishing community regarding their experiences and concerns. If anyone is interested in the community consultation the media agency is Destination Think!  They would be interested in hearing from local fly fishermen. The contact info is aman@destinationthink.com if you would like to be involved.

Great... Vancouver-based millennials with laptops and lattes looking to advance our ideas as their own. imho they are a perfect example of what is wrong. No subject matter expertise of their own, they are crowd sourcing data to spin a marketing pitch to Tourism Calgary. Sigh...

I recommend they set up shop in Canmore on any weekend during the summer... <_< Plenty of twitter and snapchat types wearing their MEC boots with a day pack, cool shades, a mobile phone in one hand and a Beamer's coffee in the other strolling around looking skywards... @Iwasinthemountains...

Please... please... please... just stop. Our waters are already overcrowded, overfished, overheated and under cared for.

So they just release a “study” that shows

fish numbers are down substantially—

and more or less blame anglers; then the city takes on an advertising campaign to attract more anglers?
