And holy cow is there lots of Pelicans this year, in a 10 min walk the other night I counted 6 armadas of about 12-20 birds cruising in. jpinkster Posted June 22, 2015 Share Posted June 22, 2015 I can see how someone could mix the two up: Franklin's Gull Arctic Tern I've always been a bit of a bird nut and I'm always amazed at the incredible variety of birds you see on the river and how they change throughout the year. I don't remember seeing so many cormorants in the past, but I have seen dozens near Inglewood. On Saturday we pulled the boat into the bank right next to a great big heron, absolutely gorgeous. We saw a few of the armadas of pelicans fly in during our float on Saturday. Flocks of 10-15 birds circling high above the river.
