Blackant Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Hi I an looking to purchase a pontoon this season. I have started some research but wanted your options on features you like or dislike. Thanks Black Ant Quote
Snouthunter Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 The fishcat 9ir is a superb pontoon boat perfect size, stability, and price isn't too bad Quote
Taco Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Then you have to decide framed or frameless. I went frameless Outcast.. Only had it out a few times but I like it so far. Very similar to my Super FatCat but with 5' oars. I ain't worried about goin' a half mile downwind anymore. Only time will tell if there is any issues/problems with the welded on oarlocks. Quote
bigfry Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 do not buy a scadden unless you want to be making numerous phone calls to maybe get your boat sent in multiple shipments over the span of 4 months. finally after I received the last package the next day I receive another complete boat exactly the same. which I sold. guess I can't complain because I got my boat for free basically. but dave scadden is so disorganized and just a disheveled mess. Birddog Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Scadden has a good product but very disorganized, I ordered a electric motor mount for my X5, didn't see any thing for about 3 monthes, after numerous calls and e mails finally recieved it, then 2 weeks later another shows up? Very disorganized but sell a good product . Quote
Blackant Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Thanks for the tips guys. I am still researching at this point. I do not mind paying the extra money if the quality is there. I am the type of person that once I bought something I plan to have it last many years, if that means paying a little more for the extra quality I am ok with that. The frameless toons has interested me. Like how they are light weight, but kind reserved on how the sealed anchor points for the storage bags, rod holders, and anchor mounts would hold up. Well back to my research (Google). Quote
