ULTRAlite Posted November 11, 2007 Share Posted November 11, 2007 I am new to the fly tying hobby and have tied a few of the more popular flies in my box. My question is this: Presuming mother nature will be smiling over us this weekend, and we (my father and I) are fortunate enough to harvest a deer, what parts of the hide should I keep for materials? (neck, tail, etc.) Is there anything special that needs to be done to it to treat it? In a continuing effort to use as much of the harvest as possible, it would be nice to use it in my new hobby (which I hope to gain much more experience in this winter) Thanks to any and all replies.
