I have followed Taylor reels since their first "type 1" reel came out and I wanted to see what the feedback was like on these reels before committing. They claim to be just as good as the SOME big brand reels for a fraction of the cost. Well this past weekend they launched the Revolution reel on kickstarter and the first backer gets one of these Revolution reels for $1. I was lucky enough and quick enough on the draw to actually be the first backer, claiming that $1 reel prize, which will only be shipped if the project reaches it's goal of $15k.

Anyone ever used a taylor reel? They seem like pretty decent builds especially for the price. Korean made, likely in a similar factory to those big name brands. Apparently the Revolution drag system is quite good, but who knows.

Ps. I actually will have to pay $21 with shipping, working out to ~$25 with the exchange rate :D

It sure is a pretty reel. I have a problem with collecting reels, so just based on esthetics, I'd buy it haha. Especially for only a buck! (plus shipping and handling of course). Just my 2 cents

Their reels look vaguely similar to a lot of other start up companies. However the drag is definitely much nicer. They kind of remind me what Allen Fly Fishing originally put out, and they were very popular amongst anglers.
