Flytyer Posted November 5, 2007 Share Posted November 5, 2007 I saw somewhere on how to straighten deer hair (remove the curve from the hair, not straighten by stacking) but can't recall where I saw it at. I have boiled deer hair while dyeing.... it wasn't that curvy to begin with though so its hard to say if it did anything in the way or staightening it. I'd love to see the site if you find it. ladystrange Posted November 6, 2007 Share Posted November 6, 2007 i did an internet search and 2 websites that i found indicate boiling the hair will straighten. oddly, both sites were art sites referring to deer hair paint brushes. if i find anything else, i'll post. I've never seen a naturally curly deer, so it should work. Especially if the hair is curved because of the way it was packaged/squashed.
