FlyTyer16
Hey Guys. I was just wondering what are your top fish producing terrestrial flies? Pics would be appreciated. Thanks
greatbigdiddy
last year I was out hunting cutts and it got really windy the pmd action stopped so I tried these little bugs out and landed quite a few throats during the high winds ... I have not used a lot of terrestrials but I'm gonna start using them more .... especially when the wind picks up.
BigFoamy
Small foam ant patterns are great. Me personally, i like the big foamy stuff hence the name :)hoppers, skid bitches etc...
TerryH
When the going gets tough, and you're dealing with a picky fish, it's always worth tying on an ant pattern. This is especially true in the fall, when a most of the aquatic bugs are done. Terry
Flyfisher
A black ant #18-12. I tie dubbed ones and a foam one. Foam one tied on #14 &12's. I use red thread on the dubbed ants and put two or three turns of brown hackle between the abdomen and thorax. The foam ant is tied McMurray ant style: https://www.google.ca/search?q=mcmurray+ant&client=firefox-a&hs=qCX&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=fflb&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=oPgyU62GJYXeoATtzIHQAg&ved=0CFAQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=

PMDs weren't working so I tied on an ant as an emerger. Cutties killed that thing, it was great.
Fishslayer74
Yup the ant for me has been my go to terrestrial fly. I found the two tone black/brown is the best. However the black is good to.
