wayne Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I am looking for some campground suggestions. We are leaning towards the interior of Bc but would consider anywhere that has the requirements , that's where it gets tuff. Wife and kids requirements Lake with beach Power at site sewer if possible Flush toilets and showers 10 hr drive max from Lethbridge closer would be nice. (Diesel prices suck) Thanks wayne Quote
murray Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Wayne, check out Surveyors Lake in southern B.C. A short distance from Fernie. The beach is great, I think all of your requirements are met and there are turtles in the lake that should keep the kids entertained and Bass that could keep you entertained. The campground gets very busy in the summer months though. Murray Quote

We swam in Lake Koocanusa, watched the turtles in Surveryor's lake and a much smaller lake, kids were able to ride their bikes around. They have great showers and washrooms and you really are a short drive to Fernie. Lots of fishing in the area as well, We were there August Long weekend, and it was busy but with a little walk you could get away from the crowds especially around the lake. Quote
Guest 420FLYFISHIN Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 dont stay at Surveyors unless you love crowds. Its the BC version of National Lampoon's Beach Vacation lol, lost of people and not much room on the water. If you go early in the years its good but on a long weekend its a bit of a gong show. the bass are fun, bring red worms and leaches. a large bass out of there is 2lbs but still more fun than a trout on a hot day Quote
