The stuff that's so easy to get through the electronics connections is often very heavy and thick. Brian Chan and Phil Rowley have selected the ideal gauge for fly tying, and marketed it as Stillwater Solutions Midge Body Material. As far as I know, the only store in Calgary that's carrying it so far is Fish Tales.

The midge body material isn't the same, i've tried it and it's bothersome (talking about the braid stuff?) lots of knots form when trying to pull out a few strands. I find that if you're a competent tyer, you can make do with some of the thicker ASB stuff. The best substitute is gun metal flashabou. But i still like the ASB over it, the translucence and shine is wicked.
