In particular, if you've replaced your hard drive in your desktop Mac (mine is a 2010 model), please shoot me a PM.

Thanks guys

27" desktop iMac.

Sorry can't help you with iMacs, I believe that they need to go to Apple being they are basically self contained

Take it to WestWorld or My Mac and they can help you the best with no mall mac store BS

Apple store won't even upgrade your RAM, which is the easiest thing on the planet. If I can do it, anyone can.

Take it to Westworld, they've done great work for my mother in law before.

I need the thermal sensor for the hard drive replaced. I called Westworld about it and the technician had no clue what I was talking about. Not a good sign :-(

Neil,

If it's over 3 years old they may not even bother!! That's what west world told me when I needed a new logic board for the 2nd time on my iMac and one for my wife's iBook!! Both are considered obsolete!

Thanks for the links Roast, and the replies guys - I've watched a few videos on this. Despite building and repairing my own PCs for years, I have to admit to being more than a little intimidated with the notion of taking apart my Mac like that. I'll muster the courage to try this myself though. At least I won't have to delete all my porn if I don't take it in somewhere. I'm J/K of course!

Check out OWC (Other World Computing) hard drives, ram, anything you need for your mac complete with instructional videos. I have tow hard drives and ram from them in my macbook pro.
