fish4trout Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Noticed the last while on a few boards that many fisherman don't have a clue as to what type of fish species they are catching. I've seen some pictures of fish that are very easily identifiable, yet the people are misidentifying them. If you catch and release, I guess this really does not matter. It seems strange to me that a fisherman would spend hundreds, if not thousands on gear and not be able to identify the different species of trout. Maybe we need a mandatory test before you are allowed to buy your win card/fishing license for the first time. What is every bodies thoughts? Quote
SilverDoctor Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Would be nice, in the older regulations there was a good description of fish. Quick test here. Quote
robert Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I was one of those that questioned a bow today, was pretty sure but not positive - and the only reason is that they have washed out coloring in them. I'm catch and release on anything salmonid, couldn't care less if I ever eat another trout or salmon. But you're right, many are misidentifying. Quote
