EveretteD Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 i feel i should know the answer to this but i am drawing a blank.. what kind of bug is this.. the river is full of them right now Quote
EveretteD Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 Isn't that a backswimmer? thats what i thought too.. but i thought they came out in late summer? Quote
SouthBow Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Looks like a Boatman. It doesnt have the large legs protruding from rear sides that a backswimmer has. All those splashy rises that you see on the river are probably Boatman takes . There is alot of them hanging just under the surface on the river right now. Quote
Gaffer Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Definately a boatman, family Corixidea You should be finding them as they overwinter as adults and mate in the spring. The late summer action when you see them in when they are hatching. Andrew Quote
