Timo Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Knocking off the rust of over 10+ years of not tying. I saw these new fish skulls and I had to try them out. Laughing is allowed. I also made some Zonkers with the Fish Skulls. The only trouble I had with them was glueing down the eyes. (Too small for my old eyes) Cheers Quote

Timo Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 Post the recipe. I like these. Simple really... I modifyied a DNA Clouser Back two flies I used White DNA for the upper mixed with a few Flashabou strands with 3 peacock herls on the very top Bottom I used Smoke DNA with some blue crystal flash mixed in and then I attached some red marabou to make gills. For the one in the foreground I used White DNA with flashabou then some Smoke on top of it, Bottom is crystal blue flash only and again some red marabou for the gills. Attach fish skulls as per directions on the package Thread: White Waxed nylon Hook: Any streamer hook this was a Mustad #4 9672 Fish Skulls: Medium chartreuse These flys tie up really quick and the fish skulls wrap everything up neatly. Make sure you have some superglue. Quote

admin Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Looking good! The skulls are really nice to work with. I tied up some really small stuff (#12 streamers) to throw this spring on the creeks. Quote
