Hey guys, just bought a Whiteriver 270 6-7wt reel for my 5wt rod today at bass pro, they were having a clearance sale on it, from 220 down to 89, to make room for new model coming in. Anyways, anyone have any experience with this reel? I was a bit worried about the size of the reel for my 5wt TFO, but its really light i think it will be just fine. Anyone heard anything bad?

Thanks for the tip. I just purchased mine from Bass Pro. They are going to send me the reel in the mail. There are only 5 left. It was the correct size at the right price, so I could not pass it up. I have always wanted one of the newer high end reels to replace my (now almost destroyed) Hardy marquis #7. But over $200.00 is still too pricey for me. I cannot wait to try it out. Thanks again.

Hey , no problem at all. If anyone is looking for a decent reel at an awesome price.. go see if you can get one before they are all gone. I got a chance to try it out today, works 10x better than what i had before. Very light and pretty sleek looking. I read a few reviews online that once the reel gets wet, the drag starts to lock up which worried me a little....but after a little slip and elbow deep in the river (rod reel and all) i can tell you i had no problems what so ever after it got wet. Besides the fact my sleeve started to freeze. 3 nice rainbows today though :D
