jononfire Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Just wondering at what point (m3/s) should you not take drift boat down the bow? Thanks Jon Quote
BRH Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Just wondering at what point (m3/s) should you not take drift boat down the bow? I don't think there is any point at which taking a drift boat on the Bow would be dangerous if you're familiar with the river. I don't gauge whether or not to do a float on flow but rather on the colour of the water. If it is fishable, that's good enough by me. Quote
ÜberFly Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I'd say during the run off of '05 it would not have been safe (familiar with the river or not!)! But that's just me (former white water rafting guide & 12 years as a lifeguard & water safety instructor). You're probably right on the 100 year flood but then the water was flowing mud (not fishable) so there wouldn't be much point in floating it anyway. Nice credentials ... but you didn't answer the man's question. Quote
jononfire Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 fair enough i was kimd of thinking the same thing just thought i would see others opinions Quote
Tungsten Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I think June 19 2005 it was 1800 m3/s below the highwood.Thats about the only time i would say it wasn't safe to float. Quote
