bjbailey Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Hey Everyone, I am thinking about buying a new set up for targeting risers on the bow. Ideally, I'd like to be able to cross over and use the rod on some smaller streams, but want to make sure that I don't go too light to handle bigger fish on the bow. What do you typically use as your lighter Bow River rods? Thanks! Brandon Quote
darrinhurst Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I have an 8'6" 5wt TFO for dries on the Bow. Love the feel of it and it casts great. Quote
Simpson Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 with a crossover use to small streams in mind, I myself would opt for a 4wt 9' in brand of your preference and casting style. I have a TFO Finesse which I am very pleased with. Quote
jonn Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I love my Loop Opti 8'8" 3 wt., it fights like a 4 with the tip of a 3. I've never had any troubles handling larger fish with it and I used it down the trunk and had a blast with it there too! Quote
ÜberFly Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 My 8'6" Sage LL 4 wt or Deb's 8'6" Beulah Guide Series 4 wt. If I only have 2 rods with me (usually my 5 wt & 6 wt) they my Redington CPX 5 wt works VERY well!! P Quote
bjbailey Posted May 23, 2010 Author Posted May 23, 2010 Thanks everyone, I opted for a 4 weight afterall. I can't wait to get out and cast it tomorrow! Tight lines. Quote
