I couldn't find what I wanted for a 10' light switch rod, so I took the course at Fishtales with Wayne and built my own on a 10' 4 wt Dancraft FT blank. So far it's been a great stick for nymphing but also can punch a line a fair ways for the stillwaters. I've also got a cut down 40+ for a scandi head.

Taped up and ready for the reel seat:

Neil,

You should try the rainshawon blank, I got a 5wt 10foot 6 and I placed a three inch handle on the bottom.

Not finished it yet as I just don't have the time to finish the epoxy but I think this would be a sweet rod, once I get mine done we should hit the river and try each others out.

Regardless of it, looks pretty sweet.

BTW what line are you planning on using

I've tried it with a 5 wt rio gold, 6 wt SA distance line, and the modified 40+ for swinging small streamers - the 6 wt works good for overhead and nymphing and the 5 can be a little light at close range. I also wanted something for the float tube, so I went with the faster rod.
