chiasson
I was just curious to know if anyone has cleverly rigged up a homemade vise attachment for tying tubes.

chiasson
yeah it's pretty clever...a bodkin So you just jam the tube between the bodkin handle and the vice jaws?
SilverDoctor
You can use a stick pin and needles but they can be a hassle, cut off the eye of a hook and it will work. A few companies including Snowbee, Falkenberg, HMH and a few others put out a Tube Fly Tool that fits into your vice jaws. Not very expensive and far superior. headscan
Yeah, I think those tube vise adapters sell anywhere between $20-$40. A bodkin or something is ok if you just want to see if you like tying on tubes, but a proper tube vise or adapter is much more convenient if you want to tie tubes with any regularity. Guest 420FLYFISHIN
the Snowbee one is great too. I do wish it would put more pressure on the tube to stop it from spinning under heavy lead but it works.
