Czech Nymphs

From what I've seen, slim & heavy are a must, color and the addition of a colored bead for a hot spot are the variations.

I do tie a 3 headed beaded nymph that I've seen on Danica (sp?) that could be classified as a czech nymph I spose...................lead body would be cheaper thou..........way cheaper and probably heavier.

Are you talking about actual Czech nymph patterns or flies to use with Czech nymphing techniques? Most of my Czech nymphs are evil weevils without the tail and legs and flat lead wrapped underneath to give them weight. You want them heavy and with little drag so they get deep fast. I've used a chenille stonefly nymph with lots of flat lead underneath and a big tungsten bead with lots of success as well while Czech nymphing. Talk to John Bransfield, he's the local Czech nymphing expert.
