leachman Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I was thinking about picking up the rio versi tip cold water line for my 5-6 weight rod. Does anybody have any experiences with this setup? It seems like an economical alternative to buying a new floating line ( which i want ) and a sinking line ( which i need) Quote
colemole Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Have had one for several years and am happy with it. Have several other lines but generally have a reel with me with the versi tip. Quote
maxwell Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 it is a pretty dope system dude.. it offers a great spectrum of fishing thats forsure all in one line! Quote
jack Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Shop around. There are others that may be less expensive with more durable lines/loops. j Quote
Jayhad Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I thought the line would feel like it hinged at the loops but it casts very comfortably Quote
PAV Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Used it last year on the coast on my 8wt and I have to admit I was very impressed. Used 3 of the 5 heads and they casted excellent. I found changing the tips a little tricky as the loops kind of lock together but all in all a great way to go if you want to cover a variety of water. Quote
