Rufus28 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hey Guys/Gals, I am heading up to the Little Smoky on Sunday for a week of Fishing/Hunting. I have looked around at the fishing reports and through the forums but was not able to find any recommendations on what flys to bring. I have never fished Grayling before and just looking for some suggestions. Thanks In Advance! Brad Quote
Jimbo Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 The grayling usually like dries and aren't that particular. Adams, Stimulator, Elk Hair Caddis etc, usually work. You might take some big streamers as there are bulls there too. Jim Quote
admin Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I've done well using nymphs like Evil Weevils and pheasant tails out there. Chironomids and caddis dries (CDC and Elk) have also been pretty good. There are some nice bulls in there as well so don't forget to take some bigger streamers as well. Quote
BBBrownie Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I second the royal coachmen. Grayling are attracted to red, so fish dries with red on them, royal humpies can also be productive. Quote

scorpiondeathlock Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 If they are not coming up use small Gold ribbed hares ears and prince nymphs. They love to nail them on the swing. Cheers, Scorpiondeathlock Quote
