I have organized quite a few group camping events and I have a good checklist if you need any advice.
Perhaps an organizational meeting prior at the Rose & Crown?

I have Sunday, Monday Tuesdays off so of course those days would be perfect for me but I can pretty well go anytime.

I also think that sowewhere in the Forest Reserve around the Upper Oldman, Racehorse etc. There's a camping at the Oldman campground which includes a Group Camping area, Racehorse Creek Campground, Dutch Creek campground plus numerous random camping areas. The Livingston R, Oldman R, Dutch Creek, Racehorse Creek, Vicary Creek and Daisy Creek are all close by and the Crow is 35-40 k away. As someone earlier mentioned, proximity to liquor store is the only problem so bring lots!! I'll bring the beer bong!!

Sean is the man.
Sean is the man..He ties awesome flies that catch fish! He taught me a lot about flyfishing and I thank him, It's a shame that he doesn't want to be involved as much this year. Hopefully we can keep FTT going without him.

There's a great bar called the No Name Bar across from the "Seahorse" on the Malecon. The owner, Don Eastcott is a Calgarian and shows all the hockey games. Tell him "Big Al" sent ya. I'm heading there in the New Year!

Hey uh Dave.....you and Al????? I certainly hope you're not putting yourself in his class
I don't tie flies but I'm married to someone who does. Does that mean I can come and drink beer or would I be persona non grata?
Oh wait. I know Al. I'm so in!
Lynn you are so sweet!!!! More info on FTT to come soon. Thanks for all your interest...I will keep you posted!

Where did you bar tend? I was in Banff from 79' to 86. Met lots of semi-famous folk in Banff, lots of hockey players and skiers.

I was an "King Eddy Boy" from 79-87.

I'd say we have a winner -- unless someone has a picture of themself with the pope.
Nice work BBT.
As for you Weedy ...
I have a picture with me and the Pope but I'm tired of people asking" Who's that with Big AL?"

After watching the sweater of Larry Robinson hoisted to the rafters last night of the Bell Centre I dug thru my archives and found this photo. I met him when I lived in Banff in the'80's. He was attending the Team Canada training camp for the '84 Canada Cup. I was moonlighting from my bartending jod as a pedicab driver.
Has any body else had brushes with greatness?

I purchased a pair of Cloudveil boots at Fishtales. The sales clerk tried to push me towards Korkers but I like the full felt sole of the Cloudveils as compared to the middle felt sole of the Korkers. The Cloudveils are extremely light and very comfortable. They also come with an extra insole to be used when wet wading when you need to fill up the boot for a better fit. So for the first season they have been great. I'll have to wait a few more years to report how durable they are.

Cloudveil is also available at WSS. I have a new pair of Redington waders which I received as a replacement for a pair I bought 6 yrs ago.( Thanks Sage/Redington). I rarely wear them as I usually wet wade so I can't give you an honest review. I did buy a pair of Cloudveil wading boots this year and they come with an extra insole to wear when wet wading to fill up your boot when there is no neoprene sock from waders. These boots are great and reasonably priced. Eventually waders wear out. Flyfishing writer, John Gierach, titled one of his books"Death, Taxes and Leaky Waders". That explains it!

Did you just rhyme on purpose?
"He's a poet and.....he didn't even think he was!"

Mr Flytie Tuesdays has classes on Tuesdays until Jan. He will do it in the New Year when he has no class!

While cycling on the coast South of San Francisco I crossed Frenchmans Creek. It is between the towns of Half Moon Bay and El Granada. Despite all the talk ,it seemed quite dried up and couldn't possibly hold any fish. Quite a disappointment!

There seemed to have been a "Gink" shortage in Aug-Sept.
