  11. Hi Flyfishfairwx, No sliding - promise. We conducted a reader study a couple years back and the main message we got back with regards to the editorial content was fairly clear - Don't Change A Thing. With that in mind the other message that we got was "Can you give us just a little bit of destination?". So we thought the best way to handle this without completely vacating our core editorial values would be to produce a fifth issue which focus would be 100% destination based - BUT done our way. Derek (Editor) has written an editorial for Stream Lines in the Special Issue that will cover all of what we are doing with this issue. Not to worry your regular issues will be as reliable as always. Cheers! Chris
  12. Hi Everyone, Remember the TROUT cover debate we had a few issues ago? WE NEED YOUR HELP AGAIN. Except for this time we are going to let YOU GUYS choose which cover we should go with for our 2010 "Destinations" Special Issue. This issue is due out on stands on October 18th so we need you to tell us this week which cover you prefer. Is it the one on the left, which has a little more character, or is it the one on the right, which has a travel feel to it... YOUR CALL... - CB on behalf of the Fly Fusion Team
  13. Hey Harps, Sounds like a great idea. Licensing guidelines for the festival will be released later this summer. Cheers! c:

  15. Hi Everyone, On behalf of Fly Fusion Magazine I am very excited to announce that Canadians are about to get our very own fly fishing film festival. The film festival will be launched in early 2011 - dates and venues to be announced later this year, however, Calgary will be on the list and will of course be hosted by Fly Fish Calgary. Cheers! Chris
  16. Very true. My version of that goes something like this: "My wife is ALWAYS RIGHT, but just in case I forget - own a very nice couch" A good friend of mine gave me some great advice a little while ago. He said that its okay to disagree with your wife. Just do it sparingly so that you have a shot at winning every once in a while. Chris
  17. love the feedback... we'll give it until after the weekend and then let everyone know on the FFC/Fly Fusion Facebook page which image was Jen's pick and which one was mine. Have a great long-weekend everyone! Chris
  18. Happy birthday my friend... Don't worry, you won't start feeling "old" until somewhere between 28 and 32. Cheers! Chris
  19. Hi Everyone, We have a little problem that we need your help to solve. A few issues ago we ran two different images on the cover of Fly Fusion and we still don't have a consensus as to which one we liked better. We thought it would be best for you guys to decide: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fly-Fusion-M...123383657684012 Look forward to seeing the results. Chris
  20. Hi Everyone, Trout Unlimited Canada needs Fly Fish Calgary votes. Check out the following link: www.rbc-granfondowhistler-bluewaterproject.com Only takes a few seconds. Cheers! Chris
  21. Re-read my previous post. I chose not to engage you on the issue. I called you out on how you chose to deliver your message. I have been to Africa's east coast and have seen first hand some of the problems. You seem educated on many of the topics where you choose to post. I would encourage you to deliver messages regarding important topics like this one in a credible way free of counter-productive filler. c:
  22. "oh yah, they're African so it's ok to dump them at sea; from the white Alberta western tycoon perspective." Who are you (aside from out to lunch)... This board is made up of thousands of different kinds of people who all have at least two things in common. The first is that we are looking to be a part of a unique fly fishing community where we can hang our hat and the second would be that not one of us would agree with your above quote. I don't know everyone on this board, but I think that is a safe bet. I find you to be offensive in the worst possible way. That is of course just my opinion. If you take issue with that you are welcome to call our office: 403.249.5975. Best, Chris Bird
