Hi everyone. Site is migrating today around 11am MST and we anticipate that FFC will be down for about an hour or so during the transfer.
Thanks!
-
Hey FFC! Hope each of you are enjoying the first bit of winter.
We are excited to announce that there will be a new front end to Fly Fish Calgary! We have been working on this for a little while and truly hope that each of you enjoy the new website experience. Within the new website we have integrated video and some free perks for being the awesome members that you are. The forum itself will not change with the exception that you will have the ongoing option to choose between a Fly Fish Calgary forum skin and a Fly Fusion Forum skin.
We will be migrating the forum database at some point over the next week to its new home and while we don't anticipate any technical issues we do ask for your patience in the event that the site becomes unavailable at any point during the transfer. Once the transfer has been completed flyfishcalgary.com will take you to the front end of the new website where you will be able to enter login credentials and access the forums.
Looking forward to your feedback on the new site once its up.
All the best!
Chris

Hey FFC -The following note was sent out today. Information about the media awards mentioned below will be posted as a separate topic in the forums. Look forward to answering any questions that you may have.___________________In January of 2001 Calgarians were introduced to the Western Canadian Fly Fishing Exposition. Over the last 14 years it has grown to represent all of western Canada and throughout that time so many great friendships have been formed. The show floor is always packed full of folks who have become part of our extended family. The exposition has become the annual "watering hole" for the western Canadian fly-fishing community, is well respected by industry and is a must attend event on the consumer show circuit. For the Bird family, this event has afforded the opportunity to remain close, which for us, is so much more valuable than any financial measurement. So many good things have come from the exposition, including Fly Fusion Magazine, the International Fly Fishing Film Festival, Fly Fusion Television and a new project in development. We can’t begin to express just how grateful we are to you, the exhibitors, for your loyal dedication. For the 2017 trade show season we have decided to not produce the exposition. Instead, we will produce a new awards event in Calgary designed to reward those individuals and companies who are vested in the pursuit of well-done fly-fishing media. We are also going to take the opportunity to join the show circuit (The Fly Fishing Shows) and visit a number of different cities throughout North America with the magazine - that is long overdue! We believe wholeheartedly in the value of connecting with the fly-fishing community face-to-face. We are not closing the doors on the exposition and hold the ongoing option, desire and capacity to produce the Western Canadian Fly Fishing Exposition at any time in partnership with the will and needs of the fly-fishing community. On behalf of the Bird family - thank you!

Will this site and all the archives be taken down?
Sounds like it will be great
Site and archives will remain in place.

When this new site launches, will there by a direct link from this site, or will we be going to a new site?
There will be a new landing page for the website, which will house the login for the forums. Once you are logged in you'll be one click away from Fly Fish Calgary.

Hey FFC - Join us tomorrow night (April 7th) for the premiere of Fly Fusion TV!
When: 6:30pm MST
Where: World Fishing Network.
Over two years in the making with a bar set so high that some said it couldn't be done. Fly Fusion Television is comprised of six episodes all shot with the latest 4K technology and complimented by drones, helicopters and multiple cinematographers. A team of only the best was assembled with one objective in mind - to change the way fly-fishing television is done. Join us as we explore this new television terrain and the beauty that surrounds us in the mountains and streams found in the backcountry of the Canadian Rockies.
TV WebsiteSeries OverviewFly Fusion Magazine Editors Derek Bird and Jim McLennan find themselves in the heart of the Rockies fly fishing the back country of Fernie, British Columbia for monster bull trout and Westslope cutthroat, but the fish are not all they're after. The hosts discover - through exploring, through the solitude of remote locations, through discussions about why fly fishing is a passion that spans a lifetime, through dialogue about timely issues affecting the sport - that fly fishing can never be reduced to an individual standing in a stream fly rod in hand.- 2

Hi guys - Fly Fusion TV will be airing on the World Fishing Network.
-
Hey FFC!
Some awesome news from Fly Fusion. Look forward to your feedback - enjoy!
Click here if the movie does not play.Fly Fusion TV - Series Overview
Fly Fusion Magazine takes its visually inviting and highly captivating print platform and successfully transitions the same vision to film and television. Co-host Jim McLennan (respected guide, word renown fly-fishing
author, and Fly Fusion’s managing editor) and Derek Bird (Fly Fusion’s founding editor) team up with a number of the magazine’s field editors to provide engaging and informative dialogue. Fishing in British Columbia’s Kootenay region, they find themselves in the heart of the Rockies fly fishing in some of the country’s most stunning locations. The co-hosts fly fish for oversized bull trout and large Westslope cutthroat, but the fish are not all they're after. The series also projects all that makes a fishing trip more than just catching fish. The hosts discover - through exploring, through the solitude of remote locations, through discussions about why fly fishing is a passion that spans a lifetime, through dialogue about timely issues affecting the sport - that fly fishing can never be reduced to an individual standing in water, holding a rod. Fly fishing connects the individual to others, to generations, to fish, and to environments. In each episode, McLennan and Bird chase both trout and the heart of fly fishing.- 4
