I have been playing around with some variations of these flies lately, and I was wondering if anyone had any specific changes they liked. I picked up some olive hares ear dubbing today, and I was thinking of either using it alone or mixing it with natural hares ear. I had also made a few flies with thread hot spots, and I wanted to try using some UV ice dub.

This is incredible, do you actually fish flies that look this nice?

Woolly Buggers, a little hard to fill up the body on a size 2 hook with 6" saddle hackle though.

Looks pretty good to me, gonna be a good one to use for a hopper-dropper rig. Did you build the body all the way around the hook, like the Charlie Boy hopper? Or just attach the foam to the top?

My tying stuff was actually an early Christmas present too. I went to the fly shop and got a solid vice (Dyna-king kingfisher) along with some basic tools and just the materials I needed to tie the flies I wanted to start with. I am really happy I went this way as opposed to a cheap kit that has a bunch of stuff I may not use.

Here's a sample of some flies i've tied since starting about a month ago. Really enjoying it so far and it's definitely nice to have flies that cost less than 50 cents each when you lose them. Sorry if the iPhone camera pictures aren't that great.
