Is there a $5.00 coupon available for the Expo as in previous years?

Just wondering if anyone here ever pans for gold on fishing trips. I gather there isn't much to be found in Alberta. I hear the NSR has some gold dust in the gravel bars. I have some old pans of my father's, but never tried it out.

I'm thinking about picking up one of these wicked sticks. Either the 4wt 8'-6 mid flex or the 6wt 9'-6 tip flex. Anyone have any reviews?

Don, Sorry I couldn't make the meeting. Was there any talk on these issues:? 1. Are the proposed regulation changes for Fall Creek to protect the Bull trout populations going through? 2. Should we introduce more "fly fishing only" stretches to rivers similar to the Maligne in Jasper? Prairie Creek comes to mind. 3. As mentioned by Mcleod, other than the usual Rainbows & Brook trout how about introducing some new trout species to some lakes such as the FLIPPR Tiger trout lakes that are so successful in Manitoba? 4. Any thoughts about stocking Golden trout in some geographically isolated high alpine streams? (I'm dreaming, I know.)

The fish populations are good for now, but this lake has some future challenges with the amount of planned development surrounding it.

Hello Uberfly & Headscan, Alden had a 4wt Scott with a Lamson reel, an older 5wt Orvis with an LL Bean reel, and a 6wt Sage Z-Axis (690) w/ a Loop reel. Tough loss. We will keep a look out thanks. Hello All, My buddy had all of his fly fishing gear ripped off from his truck over the Christmas holidays. He had a big bag with everything including 3 rods in it. He was new to the sport and I don't want him to give it up, because he really enjoyed himself on the water. I donated him my old 4wt, but he can't afford much more. If anyone has any old rods, reels, lines, flies, leaders, vests etc. you don't use it would be much appreciated. I can pick-up in Calgary or Edmonton. PM me if you would like. Thank you.
