This is great news!!!!
I would still like to see a pay to play system. Force folk to buy a random 14 day camping permit. This will need to be displayed on each trailer. Then set up zones so you would have to buy a permit for the zone you want. After the permit expires you cannot buy another permit in the same zone or the zone next door. You'll have to be at least two zones away. Or be away from a zone for 14 days before you can return to the same zone. All funds collected go to enforcement and running of the program.
I hate to see more Gov but once the resource has been abused for so long then something has to give.

I might just break out the old gettoblaster, lawn chair and cooler and rock my speedo bankside while skipping rocks.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada says it will hire 135 research scientists, biologists, oceanographers and technicians in its largest single recruitment toward restoring ocean science.
"This is a smart and meaningful investment, which will allow us to make better, science-based decisions to sustain our fisheries and protect our aquatic environment," Fisheries Minister Hunter Tootoo said in a statement Wednesday
The announcement marks a change of direction after years of criticism by the scientific community, which accused Ottawa of cutting more than 2,000 science jobs and closing research facilities.
"Today's investment highlights the Government of Canada's commitment to science, evidence-based decision making, and to using science to answer questions that are relevant and important to Canadians," said Kirsty Duncan, minister of Science as she and Tootoo spoke to students at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa.
The statement said the fisheries department will also acquire "new and innovative technologies, including state-of-the-art acoustic and remote sensing technologies and high performance lab equipment to better monitor our fish stocks and changing ocean conditions."
The $197 million needed to pay for all this is included in Budget 2016, according to the federal ministers.
Areas of research will include stock assessments on marine mammals, as well as Atlantic and Pacific salmon and sustainable aquaculture.
Work will also be done on "ecosystem stressors" like underwater noise pollution and the effect of plastics on sea life.
Job postings will be put online on jobs.gc.ca in the coming days.

Reach out to my Brother. He was looking for one as well.

The bend near Spray Lakes Arena is good, and where the Jumping Pound dumps into the Bow. Also I see a lot of guys fishing just upstream of the #22 bridge on the South side.

Time to match or beat my donation.

Was down at the Douglasdale pedestrian bridge this morning. Noticed two guys using definite bait rigs- float, 4 hook set-up and heavy pencil weight at the bottom, but no bait. One came up and started talking to me, so I reminded him that regs state no bait and release anything longer than 35 cm. Anyone know the max # hooks you can use- I told him 2, but not sure if that is correct.
Use a line in angling equipped with more than three hooks (e.g., three hooks, or three single-hook lures, or one three-hook lure).
Use a lure in angling with more than three hooks as part of it.
Use a hook with more than three points on a common shaft.

Lethbridge would be a good pick. Only an hour and a couple min to the Crow. Even closer to the Oldman plus you have some very good options South of town and even across into Montana. Happy Wife happy life.

I was lucky enough to pick one up this last spring. Don was even nice enough to show me the shop and walk me through the process. It really gives you a lot more appreciation for the amount of time and effort that goes into each rod.
I hit the Oldman with Bobloblaw and on my first cast with the new rod I hooked into a nice Cutt. (Steve has pics )
Nice little Brown from the Crow
