I also found that a just a good pair of moisture wicking socks and a thick pair of very wooly socks works the best for me. If my boots are to tight then my feet get much colder much sooner! I have tried foot warmers but unfortunately they don't work, you need circulating air to heat them up.

Hey Kevbine I was in Jackson Florida . I found paddle boarding the flats to be very useful to spot tailing redfish in the grass! These boards are a lot more stable then most would think. The biggest challenge is just switching from your paddle to your rod which is placed between your feet.

I have a good hiking backpack that I use. When hiking for a few hours up a mountain a good pack can feel like nothing when needing to bring your waders and boots.

I really hope someone finds the guy who stole his pack! I know its not the same as having a your box's full of your own tied flies but if he would like I am more then happy to tie up a few extra flies so that he can start to restock what was stolen!

I agree with you Vhawk12 ! I don't think SUPs are best used in rivers. The one thing that limits it from fishing in rivers is that in order to cast your rod you have to put the paddle down on the board between your feet. In rivers i think you would have to maneuver the board to much to have time to pick up your rod to cast and have a long drift. Unfortunately you have to place switch a-roo with either a rod in hand or your paddle.

I have been fortunate to fish off one of them on the flats of Florida! These boards are a lot easier to fish off them most would think. They are stable and easy to get around in. A tip for fishing off one is to have your rod placed on the board between your feet with line already stripped out so u can just pick up your rod and cast. Personally i loved fishing off a SUP board!

I have used the BVK reel. I can honestly say i haven't had any problems with it and i have put that reel through ALOT and it still works as good as the day i got it. I did not find that this reel was very heavy, I had picked up a few to compare its weight and it was much lighter then most! From my personal experience I find nothing wrong with this reel Best of Luck Paula

Thank you Firefrog i found this post very comical! This fish is 19" I use a tape measure not an est. There is no true way to judge a size of a fish in a photo as u do not know the size of the subject who is holding the object. I have seen small fish posed in a way that make it look much bigger. The reason u dont see the rod is because the photo is up close. I can assure u that this fish was caught on a dry with 6x tippet on a popular Alberta river, there wouldn't be a reason for me to say otherwise .. I will even give u a tip! Terrestrial flies can be very productive when there isn't much of a hatch happening. I didn't know a simple photo would cause u so much confusion .. But As you said .. Your a Skeptic and there isn't anything i can say to change that. Thanks again everyone, my friend takes amazing photos! I hope to head back down there again before it closes if this weather decides to be a little more cooperating! Paula

(Next time i will crop my face out that way there is no confusion) I agree with you Dave i don't think hes used to Women fishing and if that is so then I guess i can understand why he would say something like that. But on that note I am fortunate to fish with some incredible Female anglers so there are a lot more of us then you think. If you bump into me on the river firefrog feel free to say hello! Firefrog I will also add that the purpose of posting the photo was to show that there are a few good size and healthy cutthroats out there... you just have to look for them.

Thank you! Yes i know i am wearing the brightest color possible but i have never had a problem with spooking fish if i stay low and behind them. Im pretty sneaky lol
