We've got some great shows this year, including dry fly fishing for Arctic Char in Northern Quebec, hooking into some huge Steelhead on the Skeena, a couple trips to Roche Lake with Brian Chan, and much more.

Be sure to check us out on Facebook if you'd like to comment on the show or leave a message for Don.

  3. Catch a new episode tonight - 8pm EST / 5pm PST

On this episode, Don, his brother Dale, and Brian Chan are fishing at Redfern River Lodge. They are targeting the lakes and creek mouths accessible from the lodge. Surrounded by glacier tipped mountains and endless forests, they try various flies and techniques on the lakes and hook into plenty of fish. On The Bench, Don ties up the Flesh Eating Sculpin. Check out the Redfern River Lodge website for more information. www.RedfernRiverLodge.ca

  4. Nice to see a new season, but time for new locations for all the shows. Even NFF, although some sweet hogs on the skeena. A bud of mine fished the Kenai sp? in Alaska and saw a swede loose 5 sets of line. Ouch!

You'll be happy to know this season has some new locations. We did some filming up in Northern Quebec, for Arctic Char and Brook Trout. We also have a couple episodes on Summit Lake near Fernie, with Brian Chan (chironomid fishing). There's a couple episodes filmed in central BC as well, fishing for wild native Rainbow Trout - the scenery for those episodes is simply breathtaking. There are a few traditional locations as well, being the Columbia River, and Cuba.

We have transitioned all our post productions back to the West Kootenays, which is why the new season was delayed, but everything is now moved over and set up, and Series 18 is fully edited and sent off - and I'm already starting Series 19. The show is broadcasting on CHEK on Saturdays at 2PM PST, and of course on the World Fishing Network several times a week.

Hopefully everyone enjoys the new season, we appreciate any feedback.

  5. Catch a new episode tonight - 8pm EST / 5pm PST

On this episode, Don is fishing with Brian Chan on Summit Lake, in the East Kootenays of British Columbia. They are fishing with chironomids, and as a result, they get into several double headers. Throughout the episode they explain the techniques and equipment necessary to effectively fish this pattern. On The Bench, Don ties up a Black Bead Slinger Chironomid.

Check out the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC website for more information about stocking programs in British Columbia. www.GoFishBC.com

  6. We are extremely pleased to announce that our NEW SEASON of Sport Fishing On The Fly will begin airing on CHEK, starting Saturday Feb. 4th at 2PM (PST).

The new season will be starting on the World Fishing Network soon, and we will post and update with an exact date once everything is confirmed.

The show is once again being produced completely in Trail, BC, and we would like to thank everyone for their patience as we transitioned the productions back to our hometown.

This season has a little bit of everything - big Steelhead and Coho on the Skeena, chunky Rainbows from the East Kootenays, spectacular scenery and fishing at Redfern River Lodge, incredible Arctic Char and Brook Trout fishing with Arctic Adventures in northern Quebec, of course Bone and Tarpon fishing in Cuba, and more.

Although we've never taken ourselves too seriously, our approach to the show moving forward is to emphasize how fun fly fishing is, and of course to showcase the beautiful locations we get to visit. Be sure to check out the new intro below.

  9. This week, Don and Grant are fishing near Little Fort, in the Thompson region of British Columbia. They are river fishing for large Rainbows with alevin and egg patterns during the annual salmon spawning run. Thompson river Rainbows follow the salmon up the various tributaries and rivers, and feed heavily on all that the salmon have to offer. On the Bench, Steve Jennings ties up his Jennings Ultimate Alevin pattern.
