  1. Thanks for the responses. I'll keep at it. It's just so close, no traffic and often I have the river to myself. I have caught a couple of decent fish, in September of last year. I am just guessing that it probably fished better later in the season.
  2. I know this post will not interest everyone. I live in NW Calgary a short drive to the river. I have a pontoon boat (since last year) and have floated Stoney trail to Shouldice a few times last fall and had some success. I have not floated this section yet this year. I am determined to give the NW section a chance since it is so close. I sometimes wonder though if I should just drive the extra 20 minutes and fish the southern part of the city. This part of the river seems dead - no aquatic plants, no bugs. When I do a water sampling using my bug net there is most of the time literally nothing in there. The contrast with the southern bow is quite remarkable. What are the fish eating up here???
  3. How effective are vibram soles on the Bow's mossy rocks? It sounds like a sole that is good in all situations but would like some experienced opinions.
  4. Just got off the NW section myself an hour ago. I’m determined to figure it out. It will take some time. 3 on the streamer today although only one to the hand. I would say in a fast drift it would be chaotic to land a fish. It hasn’t happened yet to me. For the most part I use it to drift from spot to spot. I’ve only had my fish cat scout for a year. Great boat.
