  1. Great show all around, I haven't been since it moved to the new venue. There were a couple things that shocked me, the magazine that fly fusion handed out was 2 years old! And that none of the pontoon or raft companies other than Scadden and Watermaster were there! I was sure that last time I went there was lots of pontoons on display.
  2. Actually most of their boats are rated to class 5 water, not that I'm brave enough to try it. Just nice to know my boat is capable of running water that I wouldn't even consider!
  3. They are not only 1 man check out the scadden assault xxx they also have a assault xx
  4. You can't go wrong with a scadden, spend some time at he expo at the end of the month and you can compare lots of the boats. I personally like the scadden frameless models. Wayne
  5. I am looking for some campground suggestions. We are leaning towards the interior of Bc but would consider anywhere that has the requirements , that's where it gets tuff. Wife and kids requirements Lake with beach Power at site sewer if possible Flush toilets and showers 10 hr drive max from Lethbridge closer would be nice. (Diesel prices suck) Thanks wayne
  6. I'm in Calgary and looking to pick up some simms apparel, I know fish tales has a large selection but does troutfitters have enough to make the trip downtown? Wayne
  7. What brand of base layer do you use and why? Is there much difference between then? I currently have some simms and Under Armour. Has anyone used the stuff they sell at marks work wear house? It's a bit cheaper and there is always coupons for $10 off.
  8. I am in the market and could use some advice from people who have first hand experience with these waders. If G'4's are your answer would you go with the G4Z's? Wayne
  9. Does anyone fish with a gopro or similar video camera? If so what are your thoughts? Pro's con's where do you have the camera mounted? Wayne
  10. I have a scadden framless outlaw assault in its great, you can fish still water in comfort and never worry about tipping in high waves. or you can float any river you have the balls to float as its rated for class 5 whitewater. As far as customizing you can do anything you want, I have a motor mount with a trolling motor and fish finder for lakes as well as 2 scotty glue on mount flyrod holders and a anchor mount. I have not found anything I either wanted or needed that I couldnt put on my boat. Wayne
  11. Dont worry about getting a portable unit just get the finder that has the options/features you want and go to any battery store and get a 12volt 4amp gellcell battery.
  12. If you set the motor up to pull you by spinning the motor head just tighten it pointing straight and either use your fins to steer you or let the oars trail behind you and use them to steer. Wayne
  13. I put a swivel on the seat of my old fishcat that really made it easy to sit sideways and steer. Swivel and hardware all under$20 Wayne

  15. check out costco prices are really good and they double the maunfactures warranty! I purchased this 1 for myself http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?P...4&N=4011462 5000092 4294967235&Mo=8&No=1&Nr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&Ns=P_Price|0||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-CA&Sp=C&topnav= and this one for my mother-in-law http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Product.aspx?P...4&N=4011462 5000092 4294967235&Mo=8&No=0&Nr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&Ns=P_Price|0||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-CA&Sp=C&topnav= no one in town were able to come within $150 of the price costco sells them for. Wayne
  16. There are a few places that will order them in I think but your best bet is to order directly from them. (that is what I did) that way you can get a better deal they will always sell for quite a bit below the retail price you just need to talk to Dave. When I ordered mine I received it in less than 2 weeks and wasn't even charged gst, duty or brokerage fee's! Feel free to pm me if you need more info Wayne
  17. Depending on your budget you may want to look into one of Dave scaddens frameless pontoons. They are very light, portable and unmatched weight carrying capacities. http://northforkoutdoors.com/home.html Wayne
  18. What size/type of trolling motor did you put on your pontoon boat? Gas or electric? If you were to do it again would you do the same or go bigger or smaller? I will not use the motor for trolling just to get around the lake Thanks wayne
  19. Thanks that really helps the whole process of deciding what would work best for my needs Wayne
  20. I am looking for a fishfinder to put on my pontoon boat. I only fish shallow lakes 20' or less. What would be a good finder for my use? Thanks Wayne
  21. Thanks for all the positive feedback!
  22. Anyone put hid's in their vehicles? What brands are you using? Pros cons? Thanks wayne
  23. There is a campground just west of taber right down by the river. Not sure if it is open all year. Wayne
  24. The flippers are amazing, tons of power without much work. Once locked in place they are solid
