  1. Listen lad...if you persist in getting personal, I can release info in regards to your lack of sense, but why..not necessary for ppl to know certain things about you, now do they...and yes I do remember meeting you at fishtales..and more than likely meet up with you again at the up coming show..anyway..you have a long way to go , but in the mean time have a great Xmas........cheers..Wolfie
  2. WOW, When you read other peoples post do you give them all a condescending tone??? Go back to every other forum and get off this one!

or reply with some open constructive criticism instead or just saying "WRONG WRONG WRONG! you have NO idea what your saying!"

    but thats just my 2C

well I could rip you apart young fellow and set you back into grade school, however..what I said is quite true..maybe you have but most likely you haven't taken those species , with each doing as you posted..for in reality there is No given way a fish will take it's prey by specie of fish to give man an actual statistic method..just like you ..do you open your mouth each time and speak in a logical mature manner..not from the posts of yours I've read..but that's you, and like the fish, it will take it's prey in whatever manner it chooses for that moment.

..and to answer you in regards to "Go back to every other forum and get off this one!"..lad..until you mature enough to speak properly, if I were you, I'd not threaten with words you could not uphold..

..but as always, this is the season to be jolly....ho ho ho..

  3. good leach but i prefer a stinger on my streamers as bulls hit the side and run but bows and browns tend to nip the tail and pike slam the head.

what a load of rubbish...by the sound of your post, you haven't been at it to long now have you..been fishing predator fish for quite a few years, including the Muskie and cudda, and until you have taken each one of these fish in the manner you have posted, I suggest you quite posting other ppl's thoughts...

  4. da3963c1.jpg

..this is the style I've been stocking up for bulls/and sea run dollies...in various colours, however, this particular one has taken quite a few ,shall I say over 23" browns when then sun goes down...

  5. ..just curious PGK...have you used the same large flies , say 4" up for the 'dollies' as well, thinking that even up there [not been there myself], the dollies would surely show themselves for some of those tasty morsels...
  6. whip finish just 5-7 turns depending on size of fly..then finish the head off with whatever I prefer and in these days...UV varnish from Wales..excellent finish..and this is done either for myself or others...Wolfie
  7. Was out again today , with some brand spankin new homemade SJW's , LDR on first cast ! ........Good sign!

Fish rising all around off and on......Golden Stonefly nymphs trying to make there way to the bank , lots of large mayflies 1" ( Drakes maybe) slate coloured . hmmm

Also ran into this little guy on a trail with his twin and they dove into their home , so w/my head on a swivel (40+ coyotes have fallen to my .204 in the past) so I am aware and experienced around these guys . I managed to coax this little guy out for some pics !! ( city pups , and den on a trail , and thats where I stayed as to not disturb) Mom and Dad out for groceries!!

the pics of the yotes are great..too bad I wasn't with you at that time, for my Wolf Nantuc now becoming more mature would certainly make quick kills of both of them..good practice for her for when the parents arrive...

  8. Hmm...just think it's odd that a 22.5" trout would weigh 4-5 lbs..more like 2-3 lbs sounds more realistic..unless this fish was a very deep/thick football of a fish...
  9. 12. good guess.

any good succes on the bwo with it? its my go 2 pattern when theres nothin hatching

you should try a different colour ..try claret/black..and both sizes are productive...

  10. couldnt find my whip finisher so the last bits are kinda bad.... but not too bad for the first flies for 2011.

this 'leech' you have tied is one of the most used flies in BC stillwaters..and I've taken fish in the bow with them time and time again...what size is it..#10 or #12?

  11. Yes I think I see what you're saying there. The rabbit fur has a "grain" to it.

you also should note that not only is there 'zonker' cut styles but 'cross-cut' as well, plus various thickness of the hide you are buying..

..the easiest way of applying the rabbit, is to lick Ur fingers first to lay back the fur, making it easier to see the grain and to tie it in place.

  12. Yea I saw that, out of my budget for sure, I'm sure there is something out there that would work as well for touch dubbing. Just have to find it.

Hi Lornce....so when this certain wax arrives from Wales m8, I'll let you know it's name/cost etc., cause after reading on 'how to make wax' that Roast posted, a m8 of mine is sending me what he uses...a very sticky wax, that he just dabs on the thread..even seal fur can't run away...................Wolfie

  13. The new heads I'm not sure which heads you are speaking of. I haven't used to any of the new heads.
    ...

..here is a pic as to what I was talking about, they come in various colours, plus they contain a tab of stick on eyes with each pack..I personally just bought the smaller size, [in three colours], for I can control my casting to a certain size of fly without getting them in the back of my head sorta speaking..anyway..here's the pic..

..if I were you m8..I'd wait a bit on buying any of that goo, for they are coming out with a new 'goo' that doesn't have that sticky touch to it after wards..as it does now, as far as other material is concern in creating wings, but again it is Not a 4-7" fly but has taken quite a few hits is with Alpaca Fibre..which you tie in a loop, then brush it out/pick it out to make the long fibres wave in the current..it makes a good fly of 3 to 4, sometimes 5" fly..as in the next pic.......................AW

this leech is around 4" long...

  14. well, I just finished one that I think will do well with both fish..this fly was created with just two different materials, rabbit fur and marabou, and of course a new type of finish for me that is..Clear Cure Goo..I never use that tuffleye, for over time it does turn a yellowish colour [which I'm sure the fish don't mind]...anyway ur comments please.................Wolfie

Plus I've tied a 'loop' of a bit of "Steelon" to the shank of the hook so that in the event that a stinger is required, I can put one on in minutes...

  15. Very informative Garhan..most of the flies you have posted will take water-wolves quite readily, for those that don't know the term, they are Pike, and your colours are not as vibrant as what would use, example, the more bright colours posted by Bhurt...

..where as bright colours are a key for pike..are they the same for the Alberta Bull Trout ?

..maybe I'm wrong , but are you using the EP fiber to create Ur flies..the suggestion is the long thick fibers forming the wing..which seems to be standard in the over sized flies..

..also notice that you are creating epoxy heads on them..what is your opinion on the new 'fish heads- with stick on eyes'...and...are you putting lead wraps on the hook shanks prior to forming the body..

..just a few questions to get you to reveal more of the hidden secrets of creating flies for Bull Trouts.............Wolfie
