  1. I gave a pair of Simms G3 Convertibles. They are by far the best breathables I've ever worn. They only have one flaw: the breathable fabric retains water for longer than other brands. This will drive you crazy if you fish in cold weather. The waders litterally "freeze up" and get hard as nails. We did some winter camping/steelhead fishing over the Xmas holidays, and daily temps were around -8. I had to start the campfire and thaw out my waders before I had any chance of getting out of them. This was a huge pain in the ass and cause for many an f-bomb. andrew
  2. You seem like you must type with one hand...lol.
  3. My father builds rods and a few years back I had a 9wt GLoomis IMX basically blow up on me and they replaced the blank..... andrew
  4. Does this year's budget include or forsee the hiring of any enforcement officers? andrew
  5. I can't believe no one else does this. I just use Armorall wipes. Just one wipe is all you need.....they work like a charm and make quick work. andrew
  6. I have a pair of G3 Convertibles and enjoy them very much. Extremely handy and very tough. I would say go for it. They make for an extremely comfortable day on the water. Probably have about 50-60 days on mine and not a problem yet.
  7. Google U of C rentals. You should find what you're looking for. They rented them up to last year anyways. Great prices too.
  8. Hey. At least your camping "buddies" brought out the good ol' 3am chainsaw. Always a classic! Haven't heard one of those since I camped up near Hummingbird two years ago. Remember, a shitty day on the water is better than a good day at work in most people's lives. cheers
  9. Cool report man! It seemed like deja vu reading it because I've always told my 'ol lady that when we finally make a trip down south, I'll be bringing a rod too!!!!!
  10. Hey. I don't want to be another hijacker here, but come on. Giving a guy *hit because he beaches a fish? Where's your compassion for the fella for practicing catch and release. Once upon a time it was so morally wrong for the purists to keep fish, now you resort to defamating one's charactor just because he has a fish out of the water for a few seconds. I bet if he had a third arm he would have snapped a few shots of himself resusitating the beauties prior to watching them swim off. Biologists keep fish out of the water to measure, scale, sex, tag, and weigh fish. Why don't you call up DFO or your local sustainable resource office and start ragging on them next. andrew
  11. I don't want to kill your post, because it's a beautiful looking fish. But come on, 44"....here's a fish from October 2007. About a 14lb fall fish out of the Margaree River. I think the fix was in and your buddy's guide was looking for a nice tip. I'd say your buddy's fish would probably be a 15 lb fish. If it was a 30lb Atlantic Salmon, you would be able to tell. I have some pics of some monsters that we have gotten out of the Margaree and West rivers over the years. I'll try and post them to give you some idea of a "big" fish...but heck, your buddy's fish is a nice fish none the less!! Cheers
  12. Hey. That picture taken from Margaree harbour, if you look behind you on the other side of the harbour, there's a house with a brand new garage. Next to a red barn of a house. My parents live there. Anyways, nice pics man. I was down Margaree for 19 days in July. Fishing was decent. Did you fish or see any fish at Middle River? How was Cheticamp? Did you hit up North River? Cool to see some pics from up there. Were you there when they got 4.5 inches of rain in 6 hours? I got some killer pics of it. My dad fishes just about every day. Blue Izuzu Trooper.
  13. I bought a custom made 6' 2wt rod off ebay for less than $100. It was made by an outfit out of New York state. I didn't do any research into the company and it turned out to be a fantastic rod. It's my favorite rod for Stauffer.
