I practice alot of my single hand casting in my backalley
Thought of doing that but doesn't the gravel or pavement chew the crap out of your fly line?

Agreed Bhurt, also think they should have 1st aid training, Proof of Liability issurance, and a Panel for complaints to be Aired about the company/guide. Also good would be a website of Approved guides for alberta.
just my 2 cents

I hate treble hooks... silly question, but why are barbless hooks so much more expensive than barbed? there's one less step in the manufacture but expensive.
WHat Rick said, also when a hook is made the barb is created when the wire is grabbed by the machine, so for a barbless hook a diferent (new) machine has to be used. so part of the price is to offset the cost of new equiptment. from what I learned when checking out this ?.

Fish whenever time and weather permit.
Generally I won"t go if it is below -5, just the cold gets too much for any enjoyment.

Blaming the parents till you know the whole story is Bullshit. as the Father of a 16yr old girl who is Borderline personality disorder (Diagnosed Late) I have always provided a stable loving home but with mental disease it does not always matter. so to simply blame the parents based on a newsaper article is bullshit. The system for mental health Particularly in adolesents is lacking hugly and Parents have to literaly fight tooth and nail to get anyone to listen to them.

I was a child of the 60's My heaviest drugs now are smoken out a couple hundred dozen Steelhad flies for the fall season for clients, I also have an expensive addiction for vintage reels and am a member of several collector groups that roam around like outlaw bikers buying classic fly fishing memorabilia (oh the shame). I have also am a dealer of classic wet flies. "I'll lay a few March browns on you now, the first hit is free". And yes I have even taught adults and school children to tie flies and made money at it. I also "use" oil paints freely and often without thinking abut the subject that I paint.
THERE its out in the open, sigh... I feel so much better now.
Am I reading correctly Free March browns. hook me up pusher man SD

I used to keep Pythons and had a program from this site http://www.serpwidgets.com/Apps/measure.html to measure the snakes. now just take a pick of the fish with a object of know size (reel, rod handle, net) in the picture. and do the measurement with the program. fairly accurate as long as fish is in a good position.

Unfortunatly yes, I mean I could've swam after them when the line broke, but short of that what could be done.
Does that mean that you left two fishes stuck together on a piece of tippet? -
How I do it is.
Heavier fly on top attached to the tippet, then add 12-18" of tippet (tied with an improved cinch knot off the bend of the hook) the add the second fly, 8-12" tippet (again off the bend) then add third fly.
Try to open your loop a bit on your cast seems to help me avoid tangles.
I normally use 3 flies till I get an idea of what they are snapping at the switch to 2 flies,
EG. i start with a BAW, copper john, pheasant tail. if i find all my hit are on the john I'll switch to 2 johns of different colour. or the worm and john.
lost a double this year on a red and green john rig. (one day fishies.... oh yes one day)

I think I know the house your talking about, on the curve just after the split in the road, that bridge. fished there once, dude in the house watched like a hawk as I moved up steam, but did not say anything.

yep she was bound last night for the shelter, don't think her stay there would have been long though, but I got her first. her and our other Dog Cobber get along great. only issue was him getting protective of his toys.

my Wife called me at work yesterday asking(first for everything), and asked if a second dog was out of the question. and relates the story that a coworkers Condo board nixed his dog on a size thing. supposedly only -20lbs dogs allowed. so we lucked in to this sweet girl.
Awesome dog, great disposition well trained, I could not have looked for a better dog.
welcome to the Family Banshee

Just sickening, the mishandling of that stick, will people ever learn?
BTW nice pics
agreed Taco didn't even look like he wet his hands before picking up and just how long was that "sweeper trout" out of the water. with a little better handling he could of grown to cover nearly 1/2 the river and given 100's if not 1000's of lucky anglers a chance at a great scap while tring to retrive thier flies.
Also awsome pics. I so look forward to the end of the month that seems to bring out the greatest pic threads
