I recently picked up th3 echo boost 5 wt. Have only fished with it twice this year but love it so far. Got it paired with a hardy ultra lite and the scientific anglers textured fly line. I picked mind up from josh and his new shop formerly Westwinds.

Curious how guys mount their fish finders on jon boats. I have a garmin and the transducer can either be mounted on transom parallel to the water or mounted to the trolling motor? I'm just worried about damaging the transducer when loading in back of truck and dragging the boat on the ground. Any input would be appreciated!

Both those flies are pretty sweet!
Going to have to give the drake pattern a try.

I like micro tubing over larva lace. Can stretch in a lot more, gives you more control of size of body or rib.

Condolences to family and friends. He was a mentor to me and he never even new, just due to the knowledge of fly fishing which loved to share and protect.

Hey Bird, I really like this one. Have you fished it? Is it supposed to be a beetle or a backswimmer or am I wrong on both counts.
Nope I haven't fished it. But it sure looks yummy! Just trying out different stuff. It's suppose to be a backswimmmer/boatman.

What are you guys using for the wire to attach the hooks together? If using and articulated shank from fish men, better to have hook at back or hook in the front?

The redington butterstick. I ended up coming home and buying one off of eBay! Bought myself the 7'6" 4 wt, have a sage 1800 series 3/4 wt reel to pair with it. Can't wait for spring!

Hey guys. Wondering anyone has any tips on taking pictures of the flies you've tied. I've posted a couple pics but they were taken with my I phone. Bought the fiance a nikon p 600 this Christmas and was looking to take some better pics. Any advice and tips welcome. Thanks!

Awesome fly. Will definately be tying some of those up!! Thanks again everybody!

Thanks again guys for all the info! Big foamy, I think the fiance thinks the same of me haha. And I have some soft hackle pheasant tails tied up, but with silver wire and a silver tungsten bead head. I'll tie some with a red thread for a hot spot.

I recently bought the hardy ultralite 3000 cc, have had it out 3 times. Last time I was out had the plastic clicker break on me. Luckily it's replaceable and Curtis from fish tales is having a bunch mailed in and he's nice enough to give me some for spare! I totally agree with vaga on the noise being a blast! Just figured I'd give some info about the cc model.
