  1. Jayhad. If you wanna catch whites use san juan worms in a size 6 or 8. They'll hit them quite a bit. Use an indicator or not. Its personal preference.

I caught a massive white on a #6 golden stone one day and almost the whole fly was in his mouth.

Thanks for the tips I will try to convince 420 to go out to "the" spot this week. I have 80 or so sanjuans left from my tying frenzy last winter.

I have no problem fishing for these guys, hell I am headed to the Harrison in mid october to fish Chum, Brown, rainbow, brook or white they are all fish.

  2. 420 Flyfishin and I saw a bundle again today rise to god knows what, there was nothing hatching where we were....

On friday we fished elk hair caddis' and hooked them up but no go today.

Neither of us are very good nymphers but perhaps it is time to learn...... drys are so fun though.

We didn't see anyone today after walking 10k of water, which is always a huge bonus. But way back in the middle of no where we found hooks with worms on them around on the shore..... I have no problem with bait but I do hate poachers

  3. monger were you guys using fly rods?

If not get a 8wt or higher and line the complete reel with mono, attach to down rigger ball like normal and when a fish takes, clear your calender as you will be in for a monster fight. It's great fun with most of the salmon species, but can get old fast if you are tying into big springs as your arms will not feel the same.

  4. So a buddy and I are looking at this http://www.outcastboats.com/outcastboats/b...e.cfm?boatid=26

are we going just screwing around and should we look at a drift boat?

WE like the pontoon idea as we don't both need trailers, the cost is considearbly less then a drfit boat, and easy of storage are all high points.

I have never seen one on the Bow, but that doesn't mean people don't use them.

    Your thoughts?

  5. I was one of the campers up there on this party of 5. We ate really well but fished horribly. I am getting to the point of moving back to BC... I have lived in Calgary for 10 years now, I used to fish A LOT in the lower fraser valley of BC and i caught an awful amount of fish. I just started to fly fish agian this year and I have not found an adequate let alone easy fishery. I guess Winston and I will continue pounding the waters and soon maybe soon I can be graced with 1 just 1 fish over 12."

I'll be back out this week end again hoping to find the elusive alberta trout..... marking off the days on my calender until I head back to BC for a solid fishing weekend on the upper chehalius (sp?) or chilliwack.... october you can't come soon enough
