  1. I have never fished for Cutties before. From what I hear though they sound like a good time. Waiparous sounds like a good idea, as I am just looking for something a little smaller than the Bow to fish. As well I would like to mix it up since I have only really fished the Bow so far since I started Fly fishing. Does Waiparous have the same kind of easy access that the Little Red Deer does with the range roads? I do have the Backroads book but find that sometimes it is not really as simple to get to the water as that books seems to make it seem.
  2. I have never fished the Little Red Deer river before and was thinking about heading up there this weekend. I am wondering if it is pretty easy to access and if it is an okay river for a beginer. Any information would be helpful.
  3. I am just wondering when people replace their leaders. I am new to this sport and have had to cut my leader a few times and it has lost a couple of feet (ish). It was a 9 foot leader. When should I replace it? As well is it a good idea to use a loop to loop connection for leader to tippit or should that always be a knot? I am also thinking that when I replace this leader i am going to use a loop to loop connection to attach my fly line to my leader this time, is that a good Idea. Which brings me to my last question. I have read on here that if you cut your fly line you need to make sure you seal the end with glue or something similar?
  4. Has anyone ever tried to fish Beddington creek or Nose creek? I used to work on a golf course on Beddington creek and I remember seeing some fish in there a couple of times. So I was wondering if anyone has ever fished it.
  5. I can't figure out the regulations for Cataract creek because I can't figure out where it drains too.
  6. So would it be a better decision to fish some still water this weekend?
  7. Hi there I am new to fly fishing just this year. I have been out a couple of times trying out my skillz on the bow river but still need to take a lesson and get some experience. I was thinking about going fishing this weekend, probably sunday, and was wondering about some suggestions about some smaller rivers or creeks that I could fish. I am only looking to drive an hour or less from the city of calgary. Thanks
