  1. I found some pictures of the papers that were sent with Hardy Prince reels on Clark's. They rate the capacity of the 7/8 reel to be 75 yards of 18lbs backing with a 6 wt WF line. I did find somewhere that the weight of the reel was under 5 oz ( I think around 4.6) which I would be happy with. There is a big weight increase on the 9/10. I will have to wait and see how it balances. One thing I like about vintage reels is they aren't to hard to unload if you find you don't like them:)

  2. Its a golden prince 7/8 with case and was 119 GBP or ~ $190 CAD. Its used and has some minor nicks to the finish. I intend to use it with my 6wt on the bow, so a few nicks don't bother me at all. I switched over to click pawls this summer, and it somehow it made fishing even more fun. Good luck on your search.

  3. Huh? Sorry, but I'm calling BS on that photo for several reasons. Don't mean to offend you, but what are you trying to accomplish here? Having a little fun with us? That's OK. Good sense of humor.

    Cheers.

Calling BS and not meaning to offend? These types of posts are unnecessary and can discourage people from posting.

I'm with Dave, all I see is someone who looks like they are having fun on the river:)

  4. I hope that you got a deal on the vantage as they are now discontinued and some local shops now have them for 30% off. As others have said, go to a local shop and cast a bunch in your price range. You may be very surprised with what you like. They will also give some advise on what lines match the rod you pick out:)

  5. Hello Everyone,

I have a honda fit and I am looking for roof rack to mount my pontoon frame. Anyone know what would be the best option to do this?

    Thanks

I have a fit as well and my frame fits in my car with the back seats folded down without having to disassemble. I have a yakima rack, but have never tried to get it on the roof. Didn't answer your question, however just wanted to share what I do:)

  6. These boots really intrigue me. I tried a variety of boots out last year, and had fit issues with the Simms and korkers. The Simms fit really wide and the korkers had pressure points. Fit is subjective however, I ended up with river walkers because the rock grips were on back order. My river walkers have held up really well, and they are really easy to get into and out of. I would image other Patagonia boots would be the same ( and if not they have an excellent warranty)
  7. I have a Honda Fit. Awesome gas mileage (5.4L/100km) and I can haul my pontoon frame around in the car without disassembly. My wife and I both have fits, and will need to get trade one in for something bigger in a few years. However we both really like our cars and I am going to drive mine until it dies.
