  1. Let me just say, that as a Chiropractor I can understand some people may have had some negative experiences with certain Doctors. I'll will be the first to admit that there are some slime ball docs out there who get you going 4x/week for years without anything to show for it. But I will also say this is the exception, not the norm. It takes minimum of 8 years to be a licensed D.C. in Alberta, 4 years for the degree and 4 years of Graduate/ clinic work.... so unlike some of have mentioned, we are a very legitimate health care profession and go through extensive board exams to get a practice permit. We cannot fix everyone, but nor can any other healthcare profession. I believe that many types of alternative health care can be beneficial includng acupuncture, massage, physio, meditation.. etc etc, but again, it is not for everyone. Everyone is entitled to there opinion, and that just my two cents.

  2. Thanks for the Input.

I did really well last weekend.. maybe 15-18 fish in about 6 hours.... there are a lot of big fish in the lake as well and FAT! Basically everything i tried seemed to produce a fish.. with the exception of the SJW.. which is odd. I even added a dry fly below my nymph and that seemed to work!

Seems like this lake would be good to take beginners to learn.

  3. I have never fished at bullshead before, nor have a ever fished a lake before. Looking for some input on best fly patterns and techniques. I have a pontoon, but from what i have read shoreline casting seems to work just fine.

I was thinking SJW, and some larger nymph patterns? but do i just leave it float or retrieve?

Maybe some streamers with a fast retrieve... Any and all input is appreciated

  4. I stayed at Natures Hideaway this past weekend on the highwood river. Only about 30 minutes from Calgary and it feels like your 3 hours away. Its about a 15 minute walk to where the Highwood meets the Bow. Caught all rainbows, only one that was over 18inches, but it was still a great time. If you walk out to where the rivers meet and hike upstream 500-1500 meters then the water is perfect for nymphing. Good luck!
