Met Alice Cooper in Maui just randomly at a mall when I was 14. My friend and I had him sign our shirts. He was quite short but a cool dude for sure. in 2001 I was on my way home from Costa Rica. they frequently ask for volunteers to give up their seats after they do their calcs for weight restrictions. I always offer, and usuallly get $$$$ vouchers for the airline and a fancy shack to stay for the night. Anyway I met Dave Coulier - the blond guy from Full house, at the hotel lobby. I had a good chat and he and his wife asked me to join them for dinner. Nice folks, but greatness....I dont think so. Got backstage once a warped tour in Van and met the likes of Fishbone, Rocket from the crypt, and My idols at the time NOFX. all cause my lady and I were in line for beer outside the show at a pub. the guy behind me was from the USA, I told him he should try some of the local beers, granville island, shaftsbury etc, and I ended up buying him one for some odd reason(karma I guess). turned out he was the promoter and didnt like my tale of how we were having a beer while we about to draft up a plan to sneak into the concert. He liked the beer though and said "rather than sneaking in, try taking these all access passes!"

How Not To Release A Fish
Carlodabroads replied to Carlodabroads's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
It is not a spin fisherman. It is a fly fisherman. (well...sort of) Unless your draging up a 20 chinook on the banks of the mighty Fraser cause its goin straight to your freezer, there should never, ever, be a need to drag a fish up on the rocks or beach a fish in my humble opinion. The rocks of the highwood have left permanant deep gouges in a watch that I wear. Actually cut the friggen glass face from creepin around those canyons. Imagine what that would do to a tender trout. The guy might as well have given the fish a DDT or a Stunner to "settle it down" enough to take out the hook and half his face. And Ron Howard behind the lens is just as guilty. -
How Not To Release A Fish

Maybe my tone is a bit harsh. I hope that anyone and everyone will take the tips and advise that can be offered through this forum to promote better catch and release practices. There are definately ways to ensure less stress to a fish that is about to be released. Please take the this information to heart. -
Hey, This guy put it on the world wide super information ultra weby highway thinngy. Its his own fault. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW3fpA0wzAU And no you dont " F&*^'n Rock" just some tips. keep fish in the water, do not drag up on the rocks. and do not hold a fish up in the air for a photo while standing out of the water. stay in the water as they can flop out of your hands. Use a net if needed. Use barbless hooks. Holding fish upside down sometimes keeps them chill Wet your hands before grabbing trout. Please add your own Catch and release advise at will.

Lets qualify this by saying that I was at T&T Supermarket for food and was in no way Consitpated at the time. But this really caught my eye for the secondary meaning that seemed to come out of innocent advertising. I bought, and gave it to my brother for a good laugh. And apparently it was great!

Went out to cranbrook area a couple o' weeks back for some fishin fun. cruisin down the Highway, I saw a big bird just off the road. Thought it was a pheasant so I pulled off to see if I could snap a shot or two. Boy was I surprised when I ducked into the forest only to find near to 50 of the ugliest mofo's around. Remind me of Costa Rican Vultures. I had never seen these dudes before so it was kinda neat, and do they ever make a loud racket!

If your looking for a guided trip, and something different, the Sturgeon fishing can be epic this time of year for monsters up to 10 feet long. It will blow your mind! around Vancouver, you have the capilano, and the seymour. further out is the Squamish, Mamquam, Stave, Harrison and the Vedder (chilliwack). Expect crowds. fishing after a fresh rainfall can be great. look for water that has recently risen from rains as fish will move up the systems then hold up in the pools as the water recedes. Freds, Harrison bay tackle, would be two places to start. http://www.harrisonbay.com/ http://www.freds-bc.com/

Trust me Dude, It was a pleasant surprise. I do like the crazy azz light the LED throws off, but as stated, I got friggen swarmed. The second I flipped the red cover thing over to change to a nice subtle red light, bugs were gone! Plus its easier on the eyes and you dont get the harsh period of adjustment from when you turn the LED off until you can sort of see again. The red just lights things up nicely. Try it, youll like it!

I suck too Rusty, Any newcomer to the sport should realize that the bow is a jewel in the fact that you have the chance, THE CHANCE, at hooking, landing if your lucky, a truly large fish. But these moments should not be expected, they should be cherished as the rare moments that keep you coming back for more. I remember each gooder that I have caught, or not caught but rather pulled in a straightened out hook, or dangling peice of broken tippit. There are some terrific, knowledgeable, skilled anglers on this forum and on any given day, one or more of them may come online with a true story of a gooder. I would however be very surprised, and possibly depressed, if tomorrow 15 of these anglers went out for a 4 hour fish, and all 15 came home with photos of a 24" fish. be happy with each day, look at your surroundings, and take the advise that has been offered to boost your odds, but Do not dissapoint yourself with, in my humble opinion, Unrealsistic expectaitons. Tight Lines!
