  1. If people don't stop making a big deal out of this then it will all get shut down. So I guess you have to ask yourself what you are going to do. The way I see it going down is, people wont leave it alone. The offices that currently manage theses areas and would love to see them shut down use the out cry as justification to close the areas. Next everyone who took the time to complain lose their F'ing minds because of the closure and then its 2 years of planning and negotiation from user groups to get them re-opened. Next everyone is driving in the River again because there is still no enforcement and the offices who manage them could really care less until people start to complain again.

  2. A friend of mine used to have the garbage contract for there but he sold his company and the contract was terminated. Pretty much they cant find a contractor willing to do it because the bin is not accessible by truck and you have to hand balm it to empty the bin. If they made it so a truck could come and tip a bin, It wouldn't be a problem. It is managed by Fish and Wildlife.

  3. I have the Jet Switch 5/6 with a perfect its a good set up. The Jet Switch is an amazing rod its not a fast action stiffy. It loads very nice. The entire Jet line up is really an amazing rod. I first put a skagit set up on it and I hated it. Went with the switch chucker and it is the perfect line for everything you are looking to do. Nymphing with it is fine but you don't have the line control you have with a single hand. Streamer fishing is really fun with a switch. Biggest bonus for me is it takes a fraction of the effort to cast and I have a screwy shoulder that can inflame and get sore. It really saves the joints.

  4. The house is Condemned and abandoned it has been beyond salvage for many years. The owner passed away and the property was just one of many that was part of a very large estate managed by a firm left to his children. There was a caretaker but he stopped with the contract and then it was left to rot. Until last year a development company bought all the land and I don't know what their plans are for it but I imagine they could care less about the house as its going to get demolished sooner than later as it becomes a liability for them. There is a home owner at the top of the hill that does try to keep an eye on the place and will call the RCMP when the need arises. He is a super nice guy and just asks very nicely for people not to trespass. Kids in the surrounding area are the problem not river users the home owner at the top of the hill says its a thing with the high school kids to go down at night. Apparently its haunted. :)

  5. Fishteck It depends on what side you access it from. From the north yes. From the south no and the problem is with the tenant on the land to the south who thinks its ok to let his hell hound threaten people who are on crown land. The insane thing Is these dogs both have shock collars and the land owner chooses to sit and watch while his dog holds a person in their place in the river for a few minutes and then he calls them back. Its totally disgusting.

  6. I think a lot of people are missing the point of this show.

If you don't like to talk to people and you are just there to LOOK your probably going to be happiest when you leave.

However if you took the opportunity to talk to some of the best fisher people in the industry and pick their brain, if you took advantage of the fact the you had hundreds of rods to cast and find the one that fit you, If you took the time to attend seminars then you probably felt like the show is an incredible opportunity and you were sad to see it wrap up.

Im a big fan of the show. I think if you go for knowledge and to build relationships its a huge win. When i started out fly fishing i would spend the whole weekend at the seminars it took my game to the next level and gave me the foundation i needed to get started.

I just cant figure out how someone can go there and not cast at least a dozen rods on the pond. That is by far my favorite part. Looking forward to next year.

  7. since catching the Steelhead bug last year all my time and $$ are saved for my return.

Before going last year i had been able to fish with a couple of guys who have been all over the world and fished many of the premium destinations. I have asked both, out of everywhere they have been where if they had to pick one place would they return to, both with out hesitation said BC Steelhead and Alaska are a tie. I know its different strokes for different folks but it says a lot. We don't have to go very far to have a world class experience.
