Hot water bath + soap + hot pressure washer. Brown to white every time.
-
There are supposedly both in the Omineca. Only way to tell the true difference is by counting branchiostegal rays. Bulls have 19-24 and Dolly Varden 24-27.
Nice fish, looks like the Holmes?
-
Steelhead anyone? Booyah
-
Sounds good

Works good. Hasn't been skunked yet. Something of a copper john / hare's ear with white biot sorta deal.
-
Scratch the hybrid off the list of things to do. Nice country that Pincher Creek. Nice indeed.
Straightupcutty

Look well fed. Gonna need pics max

Hey I missed this one, I was out in the field. Hope you had a good one Al!!!!

I've seen pike running rapids... same place I saw steelhead, chinooks, SM+LM bass, and panfish.
The pike were moving up the creek from boulder to boulder resting in the pocket behind the rock.
They aren't the weak warmwater fish everyone thinks they are, that's for sure.
The fish in that pic is huuuuge! That would beat hooking a 20" trout all to hell!!

Have a good one man.

Happened to me this spring in a huge baetis hatch. After about 20 casts, I finally timed it right and caught the one fish I wanted, 21" rainbow. The only reason I got him (no hatch matcher), was because I put a big fat juicy stimulator within a half inch of his head.
Actually, twice. A big brown was rising near the shore on a stocked lake, and I put a #18 adams right beside his next obvious meal (a big drowned dragonfly). I hooked him, then lost him. Fairplay? Probably not.
I think the best option is just to put it as close to their feeding lane as possible.

I think someone needs to do some photoshop magic here.
Exactly what I was thinking.

Woo! Nice set rick!

Now there's a slam you don't see very often anymore. Nice photos man.

Awesome.
My 5wt St Croix has seen six years of hard use on everything from pink and chum salmon on the coast to bull trout and cutties in mountain streams to monster triploid rainbows in the Cariboo and Alberta brown trout streams, and she's never come close to failing.
The only downside to St Croix rods is that they stopped with their unlimited lifetime warranty afew years ago. I'll never understand that move.

how did you catch the sockeye?
Here we go!
The ye old flossing debate begins!

Don't yank on your TFO when you get it stuck in the trees, they break easily, LOL
-
It doesn't catch more fish than Maxima. So I don't buy it. Enough said.
-
Nothing doing tonight. No risers to be seen but the river is up, but clearer. Maybe 6" now. Whoo it's clean its clean :$*%&: Gonna head downstream this weekend to find better H20 to cast into. Did hook one walley tho
-
Doesn't tie worth a damn, half the tensile strength of Maxima, doesn't fish any better. I personally think flouro is a gimmick. I see no real improvement in catch rate when using the stuff, and I go through a *hit-ton of leader. Barring some unfathomable change in design, I will use Maxima Ultragreen until the day I hang up my rods (ie: die)
-
Tried it, hated it. Sticking to Maxima.
-
DIN! Ahhhh the cutty one!! Where does the bottom go!! Unreal photo man
-
So basically I just need to find them. Done deal. Thanks boys
