Absolutely for a polarizer. But as dryfly said I don't use it in low light either. I can't remember exactly but I believe it takes 2 f-stops of light down (??), which is a bit much sometimes. Great for glare, and skies especially (As dryfly's amazing skies show..) Definitely get one, or a filter of some sort as its alot cheaper to replace a broken polarizer than a broken lens if you drop, stumble with, or fall in the river with your gear as much as I do...like the village drunkard in some early Irish novel.. I am almost embarassed to post pics now but for examples why not..

Always myself, even though I drive company wheels. Like you said, nonsense like that with fill caps, etc. and the prospect that the damn thing will break down in the middle of nowhere as a result. With me being the one Munsoned (just watched Kingpin again) in the middle of nowhere.... I'd rather know it was my fault.

Tried out a video camera on the last few outings. Miraculously it survived, as I fell in the river with it 3 or 4 times. Forgive the camera shake, got into the Crown/Wine the one night and wasn't feeling too stellar,(or steady) most of the next day. Not really familiar with the camera (didn't even have it recording most of the time apparently) or Youtube yet, and it doesn't hold a candle to Humble's vids for sure, but if you've got about 10 minutes to kill here it is... (Camera HD so use High Quality)

Guess that what happens when 7 generations of cousins procreate......line breeding gone astray
Yep, fairly safe bet there are no branches in that guy's family tree... Hilarious vid.

I could think of a few choice quotes from Melville to describe that one... Awesome fish, and love your vids man..

It is not surprising that Orvis (and other higher end rods) are expensive. You only need read this thread to understand why. Heavy streamers and a general lack of care have resulted in these companies replacing more rods than they ever used to.
I do not understand why they offer the warranty they do. Imagine what our roads would be like if you could send your car for free repairs as a result of your careless driving.
Here we go... Guess I can stop reading this thread now.

1/0 hook right to the bend in the forearm. Chuckin' weighted streamers for pike on a windy day, and got it on the backcast. Had a hell of a time getting it out as the barb was pinched but there was just enough of a bump to catch under the skin.. creative use of a set of forceps eventually got it out.

Now,
Here's where I level the playing field. I hoped in my heart that this thread would not have gone the way it did, but it has - so here's what I have to say.
- We were actually volunteering with SRD in the capture and egg/milt collection with the Biologists:
- I hope that makes the few dolts out there feel like dolts.
- The people that know me on this board, know how much I respect the fish and the fishery. I don't give a flying *hit about what somebody thinks that doesn't even know the circumstances behind a post, as long as what was done in the post is legal.
- Spending time with the Biologists and volunteering/learning about our fish/fishery is something that I notice that desperately few of us do.
- No, I will not reveal the creek name (which I now refer to as Sperm Creek), nor the Biologists name or any information regarding what we took part in.
- Again, those on this board that know me also know that I have not posted here for a very long time. I got tired of the kind of thing that my post brought on as evidenced above, and therefore I decline to post again. This board used to be great fun, hugely informative and a great place to meet fishing buddies. It no doubt still is to a large extent, but I don't have time to sift through so much B.S. to find what used to be here all over the place.
- To my friends on this board, I miss fishing with you guys and look forward to seeing you and fishing with you. I hope we can get together sooner than later and share a few beers, maybe catch a few fish & have the laughs that make life worth it.
- I have many fun pictures of the few times that I got out this year, and if my friends would like to see some, please PM me - I would rather not post them as I don't trust that the thread would not degrade into some kind of *hit fight it was never meant to be.
- Missin The Bow is friend of mine. He is an amazing fisherman and has a lot more knowledge and experience than me, let alone a majority of the board members. Do not let him get too disheartened with this board, as he is a steward of our fishery and his wealth of knowledge will leave a gaping void.
See ya' round.
That was very refreshing. Thanks, and beauty pics. I haven't been on this site for very long but already I've noticed exactly what you're talking about (obviously...) It's depressing. I love to get out with friends into beautiful surroundings, possibly catch a few fish, take a few pics, and post and share them with like-minded people. I do not enjoy the slug-fests so many of them seem to turn into, thats for damn sure. And lately it's been making me think twice about even posting anymore also...

There is very little "good debate" or a "reasonable discussion" on here anymore. Just one member attacking another. That isn't everybody on here just a select few. I love looking at all the pics and reports but its getting a bit much.
Thanks Brad. It seems to me that alot of guys like to hide behind the relative anonymity provided by these posts.... And BTW Tako, get your hands on a good dictionary. If you're going to use words like that in a post make sure you know how to spell them properly first....

Awesome pics. Thanks for the inspiration...
