  1. I found my dealers through e-bay and tend to use the same ones over and over. I like local support as well, but the shops have to deserve it. Poor service seems to be a Canadian custom from what I have read and experienced over the years. However I use TM Thorne out of Fort MacMurray and they are pretty darned good even compared to the U.S. Their prices are good and their service is second to none, so if you want to shop Canadian have a look (Google). Note I am not against shopping in the U.S. I just get stuff quicker from TM Thorne and that means I am perched by the mailbox for shorter periods of time.

  2. I have a pocket in my pack I use until it is full. Quite a few years ago I came upon a camp of sorts with a pile of magazines left behind. All of them were addressed to the same person so I boxed them up and mailed them back. Cost me a couple of dollars but I figured it might make a point.

Around town here there is a huge amount of construction and alot of the stuff from the construction sites blows over to Don Sparrow Lake where I clean up the shoreline in the Spring or any time I happen to be over there, though this year I think I have only been there twice.

Sad thing is I am finding more and more tapered leader packages.

One other thing, for folks who stuff there bits of leader etc. in their pockets, it is a pain isn't it? So cut a square of thin cardboard and snip a little slit in one corner and wrap your trimmed ends or found line on the card and stick the end in the slit to hold it in place. It is easier to keep in your pocket and you just toss out the whole thing when you get to a trash can....Kerry

  3. No washing machine. The suggestion to turn them inside out and spray them down should work. Short of getting in them adding a tablespoon of dish soap, dumping an extra couple gallons of water in them and doing pilates for an hour that would be my suggestion as well. I have worn mine for many days/weeks/years though and never had to do this, perhaps I smell too saintly??

  4. I am no pro either, but take a look at what you are using and figure out how it moves normally. That is not to say you do not give it different movement at times, but minnows swim with/across and against the currant. Leeches tend to move very slowly etc. So start there and improvise a bit if the situation warrants. This question should get a few pieces of advise I would think.

  5. There should be alot of places to try out and lots of information down there as well. Freds' Custom Tackle is in Chilliwack so out of Vancouver a bit but on the Vedder River . Give them a call or check out their website. If you check out sporting goods stores or flyshops in the Vancouver area you should find more help....

  6. I use a Vosseler. I like it a lot, though admittedly it is a little differet, The suction cup base lends itself well to tying at work or on the hood of my truck and the jaw for the larger hooks #14 and up, will hold the hook until you totally bend or break the hook shank.
