My buddy sticks a needle up the end of the fly line to create and opening. Then he shaves the leader butt down with a razor blade so it will slide in. Then he rolls the leader butt in crazy glue just before removing the needle and inserting the leader into the fly line. Makes a very smooth transition. Nice when you are fishing long leaders in stillwater3 points
