SteveM Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Great pics, Kevin; y'all have stocked some bruisers in there! Must have been a battle for the young fella to land that 'bow! Quote
Guest Sundancefisher Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 They stocked about 1200 trout in the spring from 3-10 pounds. We caught this mess of perch yesterday night... Before we went out we cooked a pile from the previous night using the following recipe... Firstly I boneless filleted the perch Then in a large zip lock bag crushed 20 ritz crackers added some lemon herb spice and salt took the egg white from one egg and beat the egg white. took the dry boneless fillets and dipped in egg white and then shook in cracker crumb bag. put virgin olive oil in pan fried up perch fillets until they could be cut with a spatula. ate them up kids devoured them delicious. best recipe to date and simple to do. Sun P.S. we caught another 3 big bruisers as the sun was setting after this photo was taken. Quote

EdB Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 great job Sun. I sure am enjoying catching those trout. Happy to hear so many perch are gone. Keep up the great work at the lake and i will try and make it out one Wed to help if you still need it. Quote
SNAPFisher Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 LOL After cleaning 50 I hate them more...but they sure are great eating! Yep, I don't know how you do it. I actually stopped keeping perch this winter as I just hate cleaning them. I'm always the go to guy for our family for cleaning any other fish. And, I actually enjoy doing it. But perch, I just can't do it. 50 would take me for ever. Of course I'll bet I'd get faster but I still wouldn't like it. Do you do anything to make 50 or so go faster? Curious. Quote
