cdock Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I like to carry a spare spool and line with me (usually a sink tip line on the spare) but I'm wondering if multi tip lines work well like the Quad Tip from SA. Does anyone have any experience with these lines? Any thoughts on what the better system is multi tip vs. two spools? Quote
timjorourke Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I have the SA quad tip system on my 8 weight rod and it works great. Quick change and you don't have to restring your rod with line. I have an Orvis multi-tip system on one of my 5 weights and it works well also although the welded loops on this Orvis system are quite large and hang up a little in my guides on shorter casts. The guides are larger on my 8 weight so that might be why the SA system does not hang up. Quote
danhunt Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I use a multitip and I think the sinking heads work just fine, but I still carry a standard dry line for any surface work. Quote
