cheeler Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Got out with Hawgstoppah on Friday to fish the area before the thundering herd arrived from Calgary. First stop was the Crow; water was freezing, the fishing slow, and the only insects I saw around until a small bwo hatch in the afternoon were a couple black winter stones and some midges. A few fish were hooked on caddis and stonefly nymphs, but Hawg definitely found the pig of the day, a 20" rainbow: Next stop was Lee's Lake, which had some freshly stocked bows taking small pheasant tails below an indicator. After the fishing died there we headed to Beauvais, where the PT (which by the end of the day looked like it had been run across a cheese grater and ground in the dirt) was king again, landing bows, browns, and the odd sucker. But watch your step if you're out there! Quote
